Crossloop combines VNC with Blowfish encryption

| No TrackBacks

For all my tech support over the net I’ll be using Crossloop. It saves all the hassle of talking someone through installing Hamachi and VNC and getting everything setup. Once installed you just have to enter a code to connect or host your desktop, then the other person has 2 minutes to put in the code and connect. Once connected you get a nice little connection timer which I’ll be using for billing.

FreeBSD on a USB Flash drive

| No TrackBacks

I played around the other night with building a VMware style virtual machine to fit on a USB flash drive with the free player. Take your whole install with you where ever you go. I haven’t had enough time to really get into it but I wanted to document what I’ve done so far.

/ 128mb swap 192mb /var 200mb /tmp 200mb

/usr 1020mb

1.7gb VmSize (goal 1.5gb)

BSD Install - X-Kern Developer, setup NIC, pkgadd -r xfce

This gets you xwindows via packages, which is quickest.

Where did all that HDD space go?

You need to see where all your drive space goes, use WinDirStat.
