The ABC has a story about Wagga airport being closed for 40mins after a 14 year old boy  mentioned the word “bomb”. The Australian has the story of a man killed while lying in the middle of the road. I remember a story a couple of weeks ago where someone lay in the road in order to get a passer by to stop. Just some of the things that make you “facepalm” in the morning…

Dead Right Channel

Well for some strange reason the right channel of my onboard sound card has died. After checking the speakers and cables, I get the same results with headphones plugged in the front or the back of the PC. :( Downloaded and reinstalled the latest drivers and double checked all the speaker configuration settings. UPDATE: Front panel headphones sockets weren’t soldered very well and thats what caused the drop outs. I resoldered the connections with speaker wire and it’s working properly again.
